What is Aerial Seeding ?
Aerial seeding is a technique of sowing seeding in ground by dispensing them through aerial platform such as a drone, plane or helicopter with the help seed dispenser. This form of seeding is is also known as “Jet Seeding” which means seeding at a rapid speed.
Atom Drones has specially designed drones for doing the aerial seeding as per the requirements. The Drones are fitted with automated granule spreading mechanism. The seeding mechanism can be remotely operated manually or could be set to automatic mode. In automatic mode, the seeding happens with timer like a seed will be dropped in every 1 second or 2 second etc. You can do the Aerial Mapping of the land before doing the Aerial Seeding. This will give even better results as you will have blue print of the land as well.
Seeding could be controlled with a help of any smart phone or tablet. Since the drones are fitted with GPS with which it can help in delivering centimeter level accuracy. It dispenses the seed evenly and give real time feedback of seeding.
The advanced systems can do upto 100 acres per day which is 50 times faster as compared to normal tractor seeding.
This is very similar to doing Flower Dropping with Drones

Aerial Mapping Methodology :
Drones are doing Aerial Photogrammetry. Photogrammetry is the science of calculating with the help of photos. Photogrammetry is made up of two words Photo and Grammetry. Orthomosaic :
The word orthomosaic is also made up of two words i.e Ortho and Mosaic . Ortho means perpendicular and mosaic means small pieces joined together to make a big piece.
So orthomosaic is a large image of an area which can be used to measure real distances between any two given points on the image. An orthomosaic is such that the scale of the image to the actual ground is uniform, thus, representing the Earth’s actual surface. To view orthomosaic online, one can refer to softwares such as Pix4D etc.
In simple words, an orthomosaic is an accurate representation of the Earth’s surface from a top view in 2D. You can say Google Earth is also orthomosaic, however the precision of Google earth is in mtr, due which it is unreliable for engineering grade survey.

Contour Maps

Previously only DGPS was being used which didn’t had high accuracy . Now you can check the elevation at every single meter or rather every inch of your area.
DEM ( Digital Elevation Model) by Aerial Mapping
DEM shows the entire model in various color coding. The color codes shows the elevation of entire area. This is very useful for calculating the volume of cutting and filling of any particular area. For ex if there is some place which is slightly on lower elevation and you want to fill that area with sand or any other item. So you can calculate the volume of that area and you can get to know how much of sand is required to fill that digged area.
DTM ( Digital Terrain Model )
The DTM is a model which shows the elevation of only the ground surface. It doesn’t show the height of man made features like building, trees etc. This is further processed to get the contour maps.
Interactive 3D Model or 3D mash
It is the representation of particular places by using points .You can say it is a collection of a large number of points/pixels (>1 Billion) where each point has X, Y and Z location in a given 3D coordinate system. Every point has also has a corresponding R, G, B color value, such that all the points when combined according to their position in the coordinate system, it looks a digital copy of the real world.
From Orthomosaic, you can do only 2D measurement (distance/length). 3D mash Point Cloud gives us the freedom of measuring in 3D and hence enabling us to find out height difference between two points, volume estimation of a specified region, elevation profile of a section etc.
